Great post and so sad at the same time. I’m sorry to hear about your friend. It’s really hard when you give them an ultimatum hoping that your friendship will matter more than their addiction and they will finally get their wake up call. I hope your friend still has a chance.

That’s exactly it. My career, while long term outcomes were the reward, daily and weekly number goals were the focus, at times. Thanks for the insight. Sometimes we are too close to the puzzle to see it. I’ll try to be lazier this week.

I went from a part-time to full-time to no-time worker. If you’re used to having to show something for your day, it’s very hard. I still struggle with being productive, especially when it isn’t entirely measurable.

I have gotten much better at relaxing though. Probably a little too good at it. I think I need to kick my productivity up!
