Crock Pot Adventures: Cinnamon Apples made easy

This little recipe is my “go to” when we have company coming over. I love how easy it is to prepare AND how delicious it makes my house smell. I love walking into the house knowing that 1. Dessert is done and 2. My guests will be greeted with the aroma as well.

Cinnamon crock pot apples are so very simple. So simple, that I don’t even have the recipe anymore. I just start throwing things in the pot. So forgive me, as my measurements are a little made up.

Ingredients:
4-6 apples (any variety, get what’s on sale)
1.5 cups brown sugar
1.5 cups flour
1 cup butter
1/4 cup honey (totally made up measurement. If you prefer “4 squeezes of the honey bear”… Then do that.
Cinnamon or nutmeg (just sprinkles)

Alright, here we go.

You can choose to peel your apples or not. But slice them, then cut the slices into chucks. I do 3-4 pieces per slice, depending on how big the apples are. Today I used a nice green apple. It really doesn’t matter. With all of the sugar and honey, any sourness disappears. Place these apples in the crock.

Here is the hard part. Dump everything else in the pot. Order doesn’t matter. Sprinkle some cinnamon or nutmeg at some point along the way.

If you don’t have something, don’t worry about it (aside from butter and brown sugar).

I have made it without the flour before, and they were great. Having the flour gives you a crumbly crust.

Set the crock pot on high for 3-5 hours. Stir occasionally, if you are still home. If not, don’t stress.

Serve alone or with ice cream.

Easiest cinnamon apples ever.

Enjoy.
